Card Shortcuts with Adhesive Borders

Thought I'd share a little shortcut I've discovered which can save a lot of time when you're creating numerous cards (such as your Christmas cards)... I LOVE K&Co's adhesive borders... their Christmas pack is especially beautiful... They are 12" long so they work for scrapbooking (which I don't do.... yet)... so you can cut them into three parts to use on cards... I covered the bottom portion of a top note with a strip and then trimmed the border so it was even with the edges .... It's hard to see, but I also used one of my Fiskars corner/embossing punches on the two bottom corners of the base card...I was really pleased with how this one came out...

This is a new baby card I did with one of the K&Co floral borders... the embossing folder I used is really cool... it has a polk dot section at the top, then embossed horizontal lines which set off a blank/smooth area, and a deeper dotted section on the bottom that also has embossed packages, bootie and bottle... I first laid down just a simple strip of white cardstock which I border punched on each side, then topped off with a section of a flowered K&Co adhesive strip... pretty quick and easy, huh?

I'll show you a few more cards done with the adhesive strips in the next few days so please check back... I hope you've had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
Blessings!

CAS Welcome Baby Boy Card

This is a card I did for a family that already had two little girls and were so excited to be adding a boy to their household... I started with a white card base, matted a layer of blue plaid paper, then a layer of solid dark blue and then the white top layer which was run through my Cuttlebug with this great new baby embossing folder... I added the three buttons on top of the embossed piece, then a gingham ribbon on the botom that I ran through a cute, see-thru, baby boy slide.  I would consider this a CAS card...They loved it!

I love my Cuttlebug embossing folders like this and have several of these (words only) themed folders... this concept/design could be used with any of them... quick and simple... Hope you like it!

Blessings,

French Foliage Fall Card

I could make fall cards all year long... love the colors and I love this new French Foliage stamp set from StampinUp... just can't find the time to do more with it... but I had picked up a couple sheets of this gorgeous dp by K&Company... kind of a swirly wine design... a sheet of it is laying flat in the picture... I used it on the inside of the card and the leaves were stamped with a nice Bordeaux pad and the Fall/Autumn embossing folder was used on the wine colored cardstock piece on the card front.

I stamped an extra leaf that I cut out and popped up and used a leaf border punch on the bottom of the card front. The stamped leaves on the orange cardstock are matted on a medium brown and the corners of both pieces were rounded. Note that I also rounded the top right corner of the card base. The three little jewels in the bottom right corner are an amber color. Here's a little closeup so you can see some of the detail a little bit better.
It's a little difficult to see the embossing in the pic but maybe you can make out the word "Autumn" just to the left of the jewels...
This card was for a recently retired, very good friend in Huntington WV... she'll like it...

Hope you like this one... watch for more ideas using the French Foliage stamp set...
Blessings and happy crafting!
